Hi Susan, Cliff and I have pearls to report since the Graeagle camp. It was a short summer with rain and snow til 4th of July. We played as much as possible. This week Cliff shot a 42 then a 41 on 9 holes! The ball is staying on the FAIRWAY. My score is showing some improvement too. I shot a 56, down from mid 60's. I'm hitting more sweet spot shots, with more stability. Thank you! Donna Carter & Cliff Monchamp
Wanted you to know I broke 80 for the first time - shot a 78!!!!! I still attribute a significant amount of my progress to the things you helped me learn. Thank you. Mark Hyjeck, Fair Oaks, CA
I knew if I got great information about the game I could get better and I did! Great teaching! Sue Coppini, South Lake Tahoe, CA
I was looking for expert instruction and the combination of Tour playing experience and knowledge that Susan and Carla offer. The camp more than met my expectations. They have brought back my passion for the game! Sandy Mooney, Spokane, Wa
The camp felt very personalized. It didn’t feel like group instruction but more individual. Great experience for someone without prior lesson experience. Barbara Allen, Worley, Id
I felt that they taught to each person’s ability. There is hope for me and I will get better! It was a great experience! Louise Knobf, Newcastle, Wa
The camp was just what I expected. The instruction was awesome, fun and entertaining! Cheri Taylor, Yuba City, CA
The quality of instruction from Carla and Susan is outstanding! Bob Christilaw, Spokane, Wa
This camp not only helps you swing the club, it can help you learn to play the game! I need to remember to keep my “tock” as long as my “tick.” John Frailey, Yuba City, CA
Lots of fun and good instruction! Soley Rothermel Victoria, British Columbia
It beat my expectations! Excellent, personal instruction from two outstanding people, wanting to make our golf games meet our expectations. Have golfed a few times and doing pretty good at it, so something sank in. Rosie Lynne Urner, Victoria, British Columbia
Coach Carla is fabulous! Jackie Kelly Victoria, British Columbia
Even though we were in a group of 12, I always felt I was taught as an individual with help designed for my needs. Sue Dewar, Duncan, British Columbia
I love the quality of instruction and on course application! Marcia Ollinger, St Louis, Mo
I learned so much about my driver and how to get more distance! The set up routine is key to me. I shot in the 80's for the first time in a very long time. My drives were definitely going further and my husband and the other couple we were playing with noticed an improvement in my distance! Yeah! I never really understood the idea of shifting your weight and following through, I was always arms. That piece of wedge board that you used was a great help along with the ball! Thanks again for a great time. Mary McKenzie, Victoria, British Columbia
Hi Susan, My short game is improving and I am thrilled about that!!! Your clinic was GREAT!!! We will be a good marketing team for you because everyone at Grizzly seems to know how much we all enjoyed our clinic with you:) I will keep practicing. Thanks again and look forward to seeing you soon. Kathy Schonder Reno, Nevada
Just a quick note to thank you once more for two amazing days at camp. Cathy and I talked golf all the way home. It was terrific. Not only did I come away with great knowledge and excellent practice drills, but also a mind set that will truly help me with my game. And, I met one amazing golf instructor who also happens to be one fabulous woman. Thanks, Susan. I shall keep you posted. Patricia Monson Oakland, CA
Hey Susan, I had a great time at the Peach Tree Country Club clinic and I have significantly improved my golf game because of you and the great instruction I received. Count me in for the September clinic! Rhonda Crawford, Yuba City, CA
Susan, Just a quick note to let you know that after our short game lesson in March, I shot 92 at a course in Stockton and actually pitched in for a birdie from about 110 yards out! I can’t believe the difference it made for me. You’re amazing. Maureen Nutter, Sacramento, CA
Thank you, Susan. I truly benefitted from your golf camp. I'm practicing by hitting balls whenever I can. My focus is on the rhythm of my full swing by balancing the weight shift from right to left leg ending on my toes. (Staying balanced is my struggle.) And my chipping around the greens which I'm doing surprisingly well. Respectfully, Leela Rai
Hi Susan and Tara, I wanted to thank you both for another wonderful Pros2Go Golf Camp experience. I probably learned more the second time around and had a lot of time to process the information on the long drive home. Thanks for providing such a first class experience and what an awesome facility! I wish I could have stayed for the second round. We were so fortunate to have such a great group of LADIES and I made 8 new friends that I will be golfing with in the future. I have already heard from Mary and Carol! They are such special people. I wish you all the best for a fun second session, BUT nothing will beat the dynamics of our group! Warmly, Claudia Motel
Hey Susan......every time I play golf these days, I think about you and want to tell you how happy I am about my game. It is really good:) I want you to know that my handicap is dropping rapidly because the golf camp helped me so much. My long game has stayed the same but my short game is kind of spectacular......thanks for all you and Tara did to help with my confidence. Take Care, Mary Goulart, Berkeley, CA
"I attended the Golf Camp at Circling Raven and within a few months I broke 100, lowered my handicap 14 points and at the end of the year I was "golfer most improved" in my league. It was a great experience." Pam Reidy, Fort Walton Beach Florida "Just to let you know I finaly broke 90. Shot an 88 yesterday. Must have been that new putter you helped me with. The year has been positive for me. A hole-in-one last February and now breaking into the 80's!" Susan Kuderer, Yuba City, CA
Dear Susan, My score is not coming down yet but I see so many ways I have improved. All your ideas, suggestions, instruction and attitudes are so valuable. Yes, my head is filled with them! But they all give me a lot to work on. I will keep trying, with a more serious attitude but with a smile at the same time. Thanks again, Sincerely, Marcia Ollinger, St Louis, MO
Hi Susan, I wanted to let you know that I am so excited about some recent progress. Sunday, Lew and I played golf with a couple of friends. It was so wonderful to walk up to hit my ball and KNOW I could do it! I actually cut 12 shots off my round. I shot a 108 so I am getting close to my first goal of 95 - 105 by the end of summer. Thank you for all the encouragement and instruction that is making this possible. Fairways and greens. Karen Buono, Lewiston, Idaho
Hi Susan, I had a great lesson today; learn something every time we play plus I have a great time!!! Thank you, thank you, Sally Ragnit Yuba City, CA
Hi Susan, We do have some good news. A couple weeks ago, Kent and his partner took first place in our Country Club member-guest tournament, the biggest event of the year. So we're stoked about coming again next year...spreading the word. Thanks, Susan and Carla! Larraine Taylor, Twin Falls, Idaho
Hey Susan, I can't believe that it has already been a week since we were at camp. I thoroughly enjoyed the invaluable instruction that I received from you and Tara. Everything I have learned is slowly becoming a part of my game and I'm pleased to say that I have already improved. On Sunday I shot an 89 which is my best game yet! I have been very diligent about practicing (with a purpose of course!) and find that I'm enjoying it too. It will take some time to embed into my muscle memory the new things I have learned, but I'm determined to get it all working successfully. Thank you so much for your successful teaching methods. I am so grateful that I got to work and learn from you early in my golfing experience. I plan on attending your camps in the future and have already told so many of my friends how rewarding Pros2go has been for me. I can't wait to play a round with them so they see my results. Claudia Motal San Ramon, CA
Susan, I just got home from Northstar after being gone for two weeks. Loved the three days with you at Whitehawk. Sally, Vivian and I played at Plumas Pines after camp on Wednesday and we all played so well, we were amazed! Now I have to hit the driving range and practice what I learned. You helped me so much and now I know what I need to practice. Thanks for the photos. They are great! Nice memories. Thanks so much for all your help. You made it fun as well as helping us with our game. I hope to come to your camp next year at Grizzley Ranch. Sue Derby
Thanks to Susan and Carla and the Circling Raven Golf Course Staff…..great time!! Rich Waterman Tacoma, WA
Hi Susan, Thanks to you and Carla for a great camp! We really enjoyed it and learned lots.> Hilary Ballew Post Falls, Idaho
Hey Susan, Played in our invitational Thursday and Friday - Longest drive was our first hole, first shot love that driver!!!! Best of all it GOES STRAIGHT! Was in the horse race and my shot was off the tee...I think I wowed them! It was such a long straight drive even I was impressed! And smooth! Yipee!! Thank you!!! Amazing what happens with a slow back swing and staying with the shot to the finish! Gini Crepps, Rocklin, CA
Thanks for the addresses and the picture. I had a great time and learned a lot. Much to work on! Hope to see you again. In the meantime, I'm passing the word around about your program. Thanks again, Judy Martine
It was a terrific & fun experience. The weather wasn't that bad - much better than rain. I am looking forward to trying out my new tips at the course this weekend. Thank you, Susan & Tara. Diane Yasuda , Berkeley, CA
Susan, Thank you for the list of campers, and thank you, again, for the wonderful experience at Graeagle. You certainly increased my understanding of the game. It is hard to tell, yet, how much I have absorbed, as we have had rain most of this week. I am looking forward to getting back out there and applying at least some of what you taught us. Hoping to see you in the future. Warmest regards, Emmy Cleland St Helena, CA
Hi Susan, We came back on such a high after golf camp! Tired but happy! We learned so much; it was just awesome. Not one of us felt camp lacked anything or that we shouldn't have done it. It was fabulous! Yolanda and I played 9 holes locally on Wednesday in great excitement to use our new skills and we did. We could watch each other like junior pros and advise (always risky to do to another player normally), praise when we saw correct posture, follow-through and alignment, and remind when the other one questioned (as we both did) "what did they say again about how to ...?" As we putted we said: "inch per foot," and "putt like a pro" to mark the distance of our backswings and to keep ourselves from putting below the hole. It was so exciting for me personally to slow down my game with more focus and intent, now armed with knowledge. I am sure I will be calling you in the future for a Marysville lesson on my way to or from Lake Almanor for some tweaking as I stumble through some move in the future, having forgotten a well taught lesson. Cheers! Trudy
Susan, Played Lincoln Hills last Friday--shot 115 which was a great improvement over my previous 129. I tried my best to put to use the many things you and Tara covered at Whitehawk. See you soon, Sue Noyes Roseville, CA
I just have to tell you - I played 9 holes last Friday and got a TWO on hole #3 - a par 3. Today for the first time ever I broke 60 and got a 58 on the back 9. I managed to hit over the pond on 12 and also the creek on 14 -- so it's been a great few days! I see progress -- just hope it sticks! It's been a journey and I know will continue to be one but I am sticking with it! Many thanks for ALL your help! Nancy Jensen Penn Valley, CA
Susan.....what a fabulous golfer I'm becoming ! I won the ladies Boeing golf tournament on Monday with a 94. Then on Wednesday, I came in second (97) in the championship at my home course!!! I have been golfing three or four times a week and have not been out of the 90sssssss (yikes)......So, I feel I have taken quite a few strokes off my game Played today with "the girls" and shot a 98 on my home course which is a par 74 and 136 slope!! I used to celebrate when I shot under 110....so.....I can't thank you and Carla enough for the personal help and encouragement that you gave to me (and Norm) and how much happier I am when I 'm out on the course...celebrating my good shots and not getting upset over my less than good (but not bad)..... GREAT BIG HUGS TO YOU BOTH..... Norm and JJ Ramme, Puyallup, Wa
Thanks to you and Carla for another great camp! Rich and I played here in Spokane this morning. I tried to apply as much from camp as I could. Shot an 82 on the course across the highway from us (40 on the front, 42 on the back). With more practice, I think I can break 80 by the end of summer. You and Carla are absolutely wonderful. Bob & Connie Christilaw, Spokane, Wa
I’ve taken the plunge – I’m learning to play golf (yikes!) I’ve shared a few private lessons with a girl friend, and also occasionally participate in group lessons on Saturdays (anywhere from 3 to 8 ladies in the group). I so enjoy learning from Susan, the golf pro, and have been reflecting on why:
- She focuses on the positive, things we do well (and there aren’t many things with
beginners!), and then calmly corrects. “We’re going to fix that!”
- She gives us only a little information at a time, and sticks to the basics at this point.
“You’ve got to get the basic form down first.”
- Susan tells it straight but nicely, “We really can’t go any further until you can step up to
the ball consistently, and be at the same skill level where you just ended this lesson.”
- She acknowledges our effort. “I know you’re trying hard.”
- Susan injects humor and encourages us to laugh at ourselves – and her.
- She uses both visual and auditory learning experiences. We watch her or group
members demonstrate, then she “quizzes” us or has us repeat back what we’ve seen and absorbed.
- Finally, in the group lessons, Susan is quick to share success stories and point out to the
group when someone has “fixed” something.
This is a really good experience for someone who’s also a trainer – I just do my training in a building rather than a gorgeous golf course.
